No matter where you stand in Prague the profile of St Vitus Cathedral and her Gothic towers dominate the skyline. Her main tower just tops 102 meters but considering shes already astride a prominent hill on which Prague Castle and her tightly packed complex of buildings sits you can start to imagine the views you could get from her the top of her main tower.
ending in a torrential downpour, we handily found a small cafe hanging to the side of the hill through a small door. Took on supplies and refreshments and as the rain slacked off we made our final foray up the steps and through the army checkpoint(Prague Castle is a government area) and into the castle complex with a gray wet sky above us more reminiscent of a Scottish Winter's day.
and decide to have sneak peek inside and find out for a small fee we can visit her tower. Cue us slowly tackling her challenging 287 winding steps and after a restorative rest or two we finally conquer the top and are presented not with gray sky but instead with the contrast of brilliant sunshine surrounding us as darker moodier weather draws nearer in the distance. The entirety of Prague is rolled out before you. Handily I brought a camera. The rain rolls in so we make our slow descent back down and back outside under gray skies to continue our Prague adventure.
